It was definitely not “business as usual” at the Lakeway Dental Office on August 22, 2012. Dentists, Hygienists, Assistants and many volunteers came together to process, check, clean, polish, extract and repair teeth belonging to 60 low-income Lake Travis children ages 5 – 18 who cannot afford basic dental care. We thank Dr. Robbie Robinson and his wonderful staff, including Dr. Chris Kimball, for opening your office and your hearts to LTlov’s 2nd annual Kid’s Free Dental Care Day. Thank you Dr. Sasi Mannem and Mannem Dentistry, Dr. Robert D’Alfonso and the Lakeway Center for Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, Dr. Winston Eaddy and Eaddy Dentistry, & Dr. Joshua Tomasik and Tomasik Family Dental. We salute you, your staff and your willingness to volunteer your time and talent to make dental health available to all our residents. Space precludes the naming of everyone who made this day possible, but know that you are greatly appreciated. A big shout out to the Lake Travis Crisis Ministries, Spicewood Helping Hands, the Free Clinic and Emmaus Church for spreading the word and distributing the necessary forms. Thanks also to Henry Schein Dental, Benco Dental and Dentsply- your generous contribution of dental supplies was critical to our success. It’s hard to believe that there are children in our communities who have never seen a dentist, but together we are significantly reducing that statistic in Lake Travis.
